Adulting is not easy – you need all the tools you can get!
Going through the teenage years can be tough – both for the teen and the parents. But that doesn’t mean that it is a time that you just have to survive. Quite the opposite. It is a time you want to make the most of!
Teenagehood is a time of intense emotions (pleasant and unpleasant). You as a teenager are in a lot of ways naturally mindful in the way you approach life with openness and great curiosity. Teenagers tend to have a certain zest for being alive and an ability to live in the now and be 100% present, whereas adults tend to get stuck in “autopilot” and worrying a great deal about what could happen or get stuck in what has happened. You most likely also question the status quo, think “out-of-the-box” and experience the ordinary as being extraordinary. All of it something that most adults envy greatly and which you do not want to lose out on.
At Thriving Life, we have no doubt that mindfulness can help weather the storms of adolescence, and at the same time get the most out of your incredible brain. Mindfulness can nudge the development of the brain in a healthy direction in a safe way – both by helping you become more aware of how your body and mind work and also by providing the tools to better cope with stress, anxiety, pressure, bullying, friendship and making mindful choices.
