Self-care for Health Care Workers
Friday 22nd of March 2024 9.00-17.15 &
Friday 12th of April 2024 9.00-17.30
At Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing
Most health care providers are motivated by a deep desire to care for others and often forget to care for themselves. They might feel that it is selfish or they simply do not have the time to develop personal strategies for self-care and resilience. However, if we constantly work ourselves to the limit, we will not have the required energy to help others in the ways we would like to, and our own physical and mental well-being will suffer.
Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing and Thriving Life are offering an intense mindfulness course over 2 workdays, with support to establish a regular mindfulness practice in between and after. Participants will leave with skills and knowledge to cope with the demands of their profession.
Participants will gain:
- Knowledge and practical ways to cope with stress
- Emotional awareness and resilience
- Enhanced focus and attention
- Improved patient care and communication
- Increased (self-)compassion
- Knowledge of ways to practice self-care and well-being
- Resilience in the face of adversity
- An opportunity to identify their personal self-care habits
