“Since I completed my Master Vitality & Ageing at Leiden University in which I created, taught and researched an 8 week Mindfulness Based Vitality & Ageing (MBVA) course in cooperation with Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing, I have wanted to continue this work and share my experiences with the rest of the world.
The book is an explorative study of how we can cope with the challenges and opportunities longevity creates in individuals and society through an inner transformation of our mindset, habits and behaviours. I hope to inspire and provide a framework for how each of us can stay vital and grow older more mindfully through awareness, acceptance and (self-) compassion.
To write this book, is a dream come through as I am able to combine my rather unconventional backgrounds in Communication, Psychology, Ageing and Mindfulness. I am also grateful to be able to draw on previous clients and participants of mindfulness courses as well as interviews, advise and reflections from spiritual leaders and experts on either ageing or mindfulness. “
